After counting down the days (since March 15) today is finally the day of my first appointment - in approximately 4 1/2 hours!!
I will be 9 weeks tomorrow and I've read that sometimes doctors/clinics don't check for the heartbeat on the first appointment.
I'm really hoping I will get to hear it today. Did any of you whose doctor may not necessarily check for the heartbeat during the first appointment request this? If so, were you able to hear it?
This is my first, I'm 28 and haven't had any known mc in the past, so I'm pretty sure I'm considered low risk at this point.
Re: First Appointment
I met my doc at 9 weeks and he didn't look for HB, said it was too early. You're not alone there! Hope you get to hear it today!
Angel Baby # 1 : EDD 9/11/12, Missed m/c at just over 13 weeks
Angel Baby # 2 : EDD 9/9/13, m/c at 6 weeks
Good luck on your appointment, and keep us updated. Like PP, my OB doesn't listen for the HB until 12 weeks. I did get to hear it a few weeks ago, but it was via transvaginal ultrasound.
I had my first appointment today as well and I was measured at 9 weeks 6 days and I heard the heartbeat.
It was amazing. I hope you get the opportunity to hear you LO's. <img src="https://community.thebump.com/cs/emoticons/emotion-2.gi
I was 6 weeks 1 day and got to hear a heartbeat. I was told they will do another transvaginal u/s at my 8 week which is normal at my clinic. You should just call and ask them to do one.
The appointment went better than I thought!! I didn't get to hear the heartbeat but got to see it on the transvaginal ultrasound! It was the most amazing thing ever. I still can't believe this little being is inside of me. It was wiggling around a
