Won't wear diaper-bed wetting

I'm not really sure what my questions are but we are having some bed wetting/no diaper wearing issues.  How did you deal with bedwetting? My DD is 2.5 yrs old and will not wear a diaper or a pull-up at night. We try to have her go potty before bed (which she does most nights) but even when she goes she'll still have an accident. She's still in her crib...hoping to get the big girl bed this weekend but wondering if there are any magic sheets, underwear, etc. out there that you know of that could help? She has mentioned a few times that she wants a big girl bed and will go to the potty at night and then get back into bed and put the covers on but I'm not sure how much she really knows when she needs to go to potty. For instance, last night she wet the bed. I asked her (at 4 am) if she knew she had to go potty and she said she just woke up and there was pee. I know she will continue to have the occassional bed wetting for quite some time but she takes her diaper off almost every night! Not sure what to do...or what my question is really but just thought I'd reach out tosee how the rest of you have handled things or what products you use for sheets, underwear, etc.

Oh, I should add, I'm not a big fan of duct taping the diaper or putting it on backwards...I feel like that sends mix messages with potty training!

  • well first off bed wetting has nothing to do with her not "wanting" to get up, some kids aren't physically awakened to get up.  Sometimes it can take up to the age of 10 not to bedwet.  Its a developmental thing and not that uncommon.  I

When we got rid of diapers DS didn't want anything to do with pullups either. We didn't really want to go that route anyway. Make sure you cut fluids off 1.5 hours before bedtime. And you can try dream peeing for awhile. Get her out of bed and take her to

  • Have you seen the training underwear on pinterest?  A mom added a pretty layer of PUL (the waterproof material in some cloth diapers) to the outside of panties to make training pants.  She sells them on etsy too says the link if you aren't a

  • We still do diapers at night. DD2 fits into the OS cloth diapers I have, so that's what we use.

I also have Kissa's pocket training pants. You can stuff them with inserts, and they'll work overnight. They pull on like underwear. The only neg

  • We did the 3 day method and they have some stuff on this.  The book said that if something like this happens that you should wake the child an hour after they've gone to bed and have them go potty.  Another thing they say is that after the child

  • I don't see how you can ask her to be nighttime trained and in a crib. She has to be able to go to the bathroom if she needs to.
