slightly low platelets and induction?

Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone had a succesful vaginal induction after having lower platelets. I am 38 wks and 2 days and my platelets are slightly low, at 127 and the OB said he likes them to be at 130. I have an appointment with him this afternoon where we will discuss our options but it looks like most of the time women have to have c-sections under general with that. Did this happen to anyone on here? I just want healthy baby and me, so will do whatever they recommend, but would love an induction with an epidural if possible. I had DD vaginally at 38 weeks (with an epi) so hoping it would maybe work?

  • Thanks ladies! I just got back from OB- I am 2 cm, and 50% effaced and he said 127 is still normal to him so not to worry but that they will recheck my platelets when I officially go into labor, or next week whichever comes first. He said same thi

  • What!? Mine were 85, 000. Ive been seeing my hematologist for 3 weeks now and my treatment was 60 mg of Prednisone, which is a steroid. According to him, it is the only safe treatment option during pregnancy. Now I have the option of having an epidural

  • Thanks MrsMommy!  Yes it makes much more sense to not have a c section. Mine didn't mention it today- just said if I wanted a vaginal induction closer to 40 weeks we could talk then. Will be thinking of you and hoping for a safe delivery with an epid
