My mom and BFF want to throw me a sprinkle. They asked me who I wanted to invite. I was thinking just my close friends, my mom and cousin, and my MIL and SIL. What is the norm?

I am planning a small sprinkle for my friend and am just inviting the girls, there will be maybe 5 of us. I never thought of inviting MIL and SIL's or even her mom and sister. Oops! Guess I dropped the ball on that one! But I think your list sounds good!

My sister and cousin are throwing me a sprinkle. Only my family is invited. I didn't have them invite any of my friends.

I just had one thrown for me by a group of friends.  They invited only our little circle, my mother and mother-in-law.  I think these are intended to be small and solely at the discretion of the host.
