Sorta XP: Intro and feeding question

Hi! I had my fraternal twin boys on March 26 at 33w1d. They spent 15 days in NICU and then came home last Wednesday. (I posted a similar post on the Multiples board)

Right now, feeding is my biggest concern with the boys. (I am pumping and formula feeding) They took bottles really well in the NICU, but they are taking a long time with their bottles at home. Has anybody else experienced this? DH and I feel like we are doing something wrong since they are not eating as well with us. They usually finish a bottle, but it takes a long time, like 30+ minutes and we are worried they are burning more calories than they are consuming.

TIA!

  • Have you played around with the temperature? DS was picky about it at the beginning. Still is but not quite as bad.

    Congrats!!

  • Congrats on your kiddos being home!  I know when my son was in the NICU, the hospital had throw-away bottles and nipples that he ate from.  Maybe look at different bottles/nipples?  If I remember correctly, DS had to have a nipple that flow
