Time limit for CIO

LO is totally going through a change in sleep habit. Waking up at 2am until 5 or 6am. And really not napping at all during the day. This morning at 4 am i put lo in his crib and figured...CIO. TWO hours later he was still yelling. I kept checking on him and not one tear....just wide awake. After the two hour and 18 min CIO failure...he stayed awake until 640 and then fell asleep nursing until 720AM.

I am trying to get over a cold and really am draggin today at work. Any suggestions? Because DH is able to sleep through these lovely midnight play times and thinks LO is just getting spoiled and needs to CIO more.

  • Could he be teething? My son seems to be a lot worse at night when he's working on a tooth. Did you try some ibuprofen to see if it helped?

  • His naps are like only 20 mins.....maybe an hour if im lucky. Eating pretty good....I know he is teething. I will try to pay attention to his napping..maybe i am missing something. Logic would be to keep him from napping so much during the day and hopeful

Seems like it should work that way but it's the opposite. If DS doesn't nap well during the day, night

  • I don't have any suggestions - I just wanted to say that DD is also going through a huge sleep change and it's been awful!  For two MONTHS we've had trouble getting her down, but for the past three nights, she's been waking up at midnight and not

  • I've heard there is a 13-month sleep regression.. ugh. I feel your pain as this is the norm for my sweet, wakeful boy. We are working on sleep training right now, basically following the Sleep Lady Shuffle. We do our normal night time routine, get him dro
  • I ran into this with DD1 when she was getting her molars/canines. It was beastly. I spent several nights (7/8 mos pregnant) sleeping on the floor of the nursery because she wouldn't calm if I left. We just had to wait it out really. Sorry there isn't bett

  • DD is 14 months as of yesterday but definitely had trouble at 13 months at night. She would wake up and just hang out for an hour. She doesn't cry or whine, so we just let her do her thing and go back to sleep, but she was also waking up a bunch between l
