please recommend a breast pump

I'll be going back to work after 12 weeks maternity leave. Can anyone recommend a good breast pump? Assuming I want electronic..? Don't know much else.. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

ETA: And any idea of any other necessary accessories.. Thanks!!

  • new laws make insurance cover really good pumps, I would start there. 
  • Medela, you want electric, and you want a double. It'll take SOOOO long to pump if you get a single. And FYI, it's possible to pump in the car while driving if you have a long commute. You can google and you'll get a lot of tips.

  • I have a hygeia brand. It has a version with an internal battery, is a closed system and takes medela parts. I believe the companies that do pumps through insurance all carry it.

  • yes, I was just at a breastfeeding class through my hospital and this is a brand new law. it is also a law now that you must be able to pump at work in a clean, non bathroom place whenever needed until your baby is 1. They do not have to pay you for extra
  • I love the Medela Freestyle -- it is expensive, but super easy to use and the battery stays charged for many days.  The pump made it easier to breast feed longer than I probably would have otherwise been able to.  Also, get a hands free bra -- t

  • Medela PISA, it came with all the accessories, and I bought a spare set so I didn't have to wash everything each night.  I didn't wash or rinse between pumping sessions, I would put the parts in a ziploc container or bag and stick them in the fridge.
