Brushing teeth

My LO is 12 months. I use a finger brush on him but he doesn't like it. And it doesn't seem to clean his teeth only massage his gums.  I used to use a guaze which seemed to clean better but he started biting me so i stopped. What do you use to clean your LO teeth and when do you use toothpaste?

We've been using the toddler sized toothbrush and the 'training' toothpaste for a while now. He loves it. I let him 'bush' for a while then I get them a good brushing.

We use a toddler toothbrush and water.  We'll introduce toothpaste at 2.  My guy LOVES brushing his teeth.  He does it with DH and I, so it's a family thing.

Have you tried an electric tooth brush? My kids love those. Also trying different flavors of toothpaste might help/

we've also been using a toddler toothbrush. He brushes while we brush, and then I go back and brush for him. Most of the time he doesn't like it when I brush, but I try to make it fun, and every now and then he'll get a tic tac for being good.
