Small SUV owners...

Small SUV owners where are you putting the carseat? I drive a honda crv and have it in the middle now, but to get it in/out, I need to get into the car, which seems totally impractical...thoughts?

  • I drive an escape. Car seat is in the middle, and yes I have to climb in and out to get to it, but it's the safest place for baby.

  • I have a crv and long legs.  It was a total pain in the middle and I couldn't get it behind my seat so it went behind the passenger.  Now since DS is turned around he's going to go behind me and the infant bucket will go back behind the passenge
  • We have a highlander. Since we have 2 the carseats are on each side. I would probably start in the middle and then move it once LO gets bigger.

  • I know the middle is the safest place, so we'll probably put it there, but I'm dreading having to climb in and out of my Escape every effing time.  I am not a tall person.
  • We have a pilot, so ours is on the passenger side since DH couldn't back his seat up if it was in the middle.

  • Keep in mind leaning in without the bump in the way will not be so daunting! Ha! I'm going to put baby in the middle. I'm sure SD will hate it, cause you know, at 16 doesn't matter that the baby is safe. It's all about her... but I'm not bitter, and I di

  • I have a Honda CRV as well and put the car seat in the middle. As PP said, it is the safest place. I took my car seat to a clinic put on by the California Highway Patrol at that is what they reccomend. It is a little inconvenient though.

  • I have a BMW X1 and it is currently behind the passenger side. We are contemplating moving it to the middle, but are unsure as of now.
  • I have a chevy trailblazer and plan to put DD2 on the passenger side since my DD1 is already parked behind the driver. If this was my first, she'd be in the middle.
  • I have a Hayundai Santa Fe. DD is still in the middle seat and will remain there until we have to place them on either side (one wont fit in the middle). I'd take safety over practicality any day if I had the option.
