Background:
I messed with LOs natural cycle of going from 7pm to 3am between feeds (which she did from around 3weeks) because I wanted to push that 3am wake time to more like 6am. So I put in a dream feed at 10pm. This resulted in her waking at 10pm AND 3am.
In her own time, she has pushed that 3am waking to 6am)
Current situation:
She generally goes to sleep around 7.30pm, wakes once around 10pm (but it can be anywhere between 9pm and midnight) then sleeps through till 6am ish
The problem with the 10pm waking is that she'll only go back to sleep for me. She happily goes to sleep earlier int he evening for DH, and for my Mum. She happily goes to sleep at daycare. But at 10pm she wails for DH (for over an hour, even though he is holding and rocking her, until I come back) Mum babysat the other night, and got her back to sleep but couldn't put her down, and in the end got into bed with her (both my parents tried rocking her until she was "floppy limbs" asleep, and as soon as they lowered her into a cot she was wide awake).
I generally offer her the breast, and we bedshare so she's back to sleep quickly. Sometimes she has a really big drink, sometimes it's just a quick slurp that seems to be more for comfort.
This makes going out in the evening really limiting. I don't often go out, and generally if I do I'm home before 11pm, but it's hard to go see a movie, or to the theatre or anything where I'd rather not just walk out.
So I think the issue is eliminating that 10pm feed. Although it's weird to me that she'll readily go to sleep for others at 730pm.
So what to do. I've considered trying to gradually pull it earlier and earlier by 15minutes or so until it's just gone.
I've considered Jay Gordon's method of reducing the quantity of milk.
I've consider just going cold turkey, and not allowing her the breast, possibly enlisting DH's help, but as I said earlier she will just wail if she wants to.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Should I just suck it up until she eliminates it naturally?
Re: How to eliminate 10pm feed/ LO will only settle for me (long)
At 14 months, I actually think all the pp are wrong.
It's a well entrenched habit at this point, and I don't think she'll change very quickly. It could go on f

Thanks ladies. I also think it's a pretty big habit at this point.
Others have offered her milk from a sippy, but either she's refused, or she's had a tiny drink
