clothes brands for really skinny kids

DD is super skinny, esp. in the hip area. It's hard find pants that fit her right. Jeans and similar pants just fall down (or a smaller size is too tight in the bottom). Tight pants like leggings usually hang down in the crotch (think M.C. Hammer).

Any rec's for brands of pants, tights or shorts that fit well on skinny kids?

  • I don't have one clothing line recommendation as I buy from numerous brands but my little guy is tall and skinny and we had the same issue that pants would fall down but smaller sizes were too short.  After trying numerous belts from Gap, Children

I don't know if the jean styles are comparable for girls, but DS' jeans from Children's Place are simply the "straight" style (in the regular jeans, not the premium). He is tall and skinny and although I have to pull the adjuster buttons in several not

  • I've got two skinny girls, and I've had great luck with jeans and leggings from Old Navy. The jeans are adjustable-waist, which helps a lot.

  • We have the best luck with Oshkosh for sweatpants and leggings. TCP has slim sizes online only. Gymboree and Crazy 8 also have slim sizes. I think Gymboree is usually online only. Crazy 8 has slim jeans in store. For shorts, I just look for longer shorts

  • DD1 is tall and super skinny. She's a kids size 6 for height, but probably a 4T in her waist. Tricky!
    Favorite leggings are ON.
Favorite jeans are Levis slim fit. I order them on Amazon. Even the ON slim fit are still baggy on her, but the Levis fit

  • I always buy pants that I can either take in the waist by sewing it a bit or that come with the adjustable waist.  Lands End has a slim line.  I find that Old Navy/GAP and Children's Place work well on my skinny girls.

  • Gap works for my DD (and DS who is also skinny).  Some of their skinny pants are REALLY skinny, but it doesn't seem to bother DD.

  • DD wears a lot of leggings. The jeans that work the best for her are skinny jeans from Old Navy. They look so cute and fit her just right.
