16mo won't stop grabbing at newborn DS

My 16mo DD is constantly grabbing at her 3 week old brother. We just brought him home yesterday bc he had to stay in the hospital for 3 weeks. I tell her to be gentle and show her gentle (which I've been doing for months now bc she can get rough w me and her daddy). Think she'll outgrow this phase soon? Maybe once she gets used to him being around? I'm scared she's going to hurt him bc she'll try to grab him a little roughly. Any advice? Thanks!

I agree with PP about never leaving them alone. We are still expecting 2, but the number of toddlers I've seen take a swipe at their little siblings is scary. There is the sibling jealousy and attention issue, the being gentle turned accidentally rough is
  • I worry about this too. Our son is already a hitter. Not aggressively, he just knows no matter how distracted you are etc., if he hits he is going to get a reaction. Unfortunately, I'm afraid the crying/screaming reaction he'll get from the baby will be w
