Feeling really frustrated!

I feel like DD will not let me do anything without giving me a fight.  She fights me to change her diaper and her clothes.  She fights me to feed her.  I allow her to feed herself but somethings she just can not (ex. things you need to eat with a spoon). She throws tantrums when she can not get her way. It drives me nuts because it seems like she is not like that with anyone else but me. It's frustrating and exhausting. Everyone says "oh its because you are her mom and she knows she can do that with you" or "she is testing her limits, that's what babies do". OK I get that but it is still frustrating and I am just tired of it. Anyway, guess I needed to vent a bit.

I try to ignore it. Its very hard to do sometimes so I will just stop whatever it is we are doing and wait a minute or two then try it again.

DS tries to see how far he can push me too. If I take something away or say no and he cries, I ignore him. If he gives me a hard time getting changed I try to make him laugh and it usually stops the behavior.

Thanks..glad to know I am not the only one  Sometimes it's so easy to get frustrated with it and I hate when I do.  Makes me feel like I am doing something wrong.  Guess I have years of her pushing my buttons so I better get used to it l

No you do not sound preachy at all! In fact you could not be anymore right.  Its funny because my DD does the exact same thing. Looking right at me while trying to shake the floor lamp, knowing darn well that's off limits, or other things.  But

I could have written every line of this.   She does it WAY more with me than G, and I feel like I'm the stern one.
