I work with a lot of women who never plan to have children, only 2 others have them. The other day our lunch conversation about what we'd do when we got old/die jokingly turned into is it better to have kids or no kids. The no kids camp was going into how they'd hire nurses to care for them and then buy fancy caskets with all of the money they've saved from not having kids.
It's so hard to imagine my life without kids, but if you had gone that route, where would you be?

I was worried about my fertility for a while because when I had multiple surgeries and chemo treatments between the ages of 17-19 my doctor discussed the possibility of no kids for me. I had almost resigned myself to that fact and over the years before DH and I had DD, accumulated 3 dogs and 3 cats. So I think I'd be living on a hobby farm somewhere with tons of animals to fill the void for me. That, or traveling to keep myself busy.

I think the biggest difference is that if we didn't have LO, we'd travel a whole lot more!  There are so many places we plan on going, and that's been put on hold until LO is a little older.
