Late Teething and how long til a tooth?

It's been about 2 weeks now that my LO has been drooling like crazy. He goes through 1 bib in about an hour or so. He drools so much that he gags. He also loves chewing on things particularly his spoon during meal time and any toys he can get in his mouth. I thought I felt on his gums a spot on the upper gum where a tooth was going to come in, but nothing yet. He doesn't seem crankier than usual and nothing as really changed but the drool. When did your LO get their first tooth and how long did it take? I just worry every time he gags on his drool and just ready to see a tooth already!

For months now, LO has gone through stages where he's extra drooly and chewing extra hard on everything. I keep thinking "oooh, he's going to get a tooth!", but at 7.5 months he still has none.

Almost 7 months and we still don't have a tooth either! He's been pretty fussy the past few days, but DH has also been out of town. So I can't tell if he's missing his daddy or if there's something else going on besides.

My DS got his first tooth at 4 months.  It seemed like a month of drooling before it popped out.  The 2 bottom middle ones come in first, then the top 4.
