XP: Can you tell me about CVS?

I just got a call from my OB's nurse and she said that my OB says that they can still perform this test even though I'm 15 weeks.  It's possible that I may have it as early as early next week which would be better than waiting for April 23 for a 2nd amnio for us.  .

Can you please give any insight as to what to expect?  Cost with or without insurance?  What does the procedure involve?  How long before results are available?

The nurse said that it would be genetic counseling followed by the testing the very same day.  Thanks again for anything you can offer.

I'm so sorry to be posting so much.  I just don't know where else to turn to get so many questions answered.

I've had two CVS' done and will probably have a third with this one.

The procedure is roughly 30 minutes from prep to finish. They will perform an u/s first to see the position of LO and decide whether it would be best to do the procedure transva
