Metal screen lock

I'm looking for something that will deter my DS from getting out the metal screen at my in laws. The knob covers don't work. He can unlock the deadbolt. They have to open the door on hot days due to no ac and minimal windows. I can catch him just fine but I worry about my mother in law being able to catch him before he escapes.

I'm thinking maybe a latch lock at the top. But would it work on a metal screen?

Any other suggestions? I was looking at something called the door guardian but not sure if it works on screens.

Thats funny because I brought over a gate this morning to use until we figure out the situation. I guess its a temporary fix.

I think I described the screen incorrect. Its actually called a security door I think. Its all metal and has a deadbol
