I went in DS1'S room and changed his OK to Wake clock so that it was ahead by a half hour. Then I told him it was bedtime and that we had to hurry and get ready. Now he is in there snoozing away and I am just waiting for DS2 to wake up to eat again. Finally some peace!
Re: I am a lying liar who lies...
I dread the day when my kids learn how to tell time and spell.
A few of my faves:
Mickey Mouse is at work.
We don't have anymore cheese sticks.
That toy is broken.
I think what you did is genius!
Enjoy the quiet! It is a miracle when it happens no matter how you have to get it, creative parenting 101.
lying or not this is a good idea, and I'm sure with a newborn you need some quiet! DD knows bedtime is 8 and if the clock doesn't say 8 I often say too bad close enough.
