Food Allergy

At a loss

I am so frustrated with DD2's pediatrician.  I just took her to her 1 year appointment. I tried to talk to the pedi about her milk allergy but I just felt like she kept disregarding everything I was saying. DD2 has had diarrhea for the last 2 months. Pretty much ever since I started offering table foods(she was sick last week with a virus). I've only been able to get it cleared up briefly. She kept pushing milk and then saying well if she doen'st like it give her cheese and yogurt. She just isn't listening to anyhting I'm saying. I feel like I have no guidance on this and I just don't know what to do. I want to try her on soy milk but since she already has diarrhea I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell if she can handle the soy milk or not.  So frustrated. Thanks for listeing. I just needed to get this off my chest.

  • So sorry you are dealing with this. I just realized after 10 months of my daughter never sleeping she is lactose intolerant.  We are using lactaid whole milk. If its a true allergy I know that wont help. You would probably need to use alimentum or tr

  • sorry to hear that.  Does she have a true diagnosed milk allergy?

I would first change your pedi. asap.

  • If her only symptom is diarrhea (no rashes/hives) then it may be more of a food intolerance than allergy.

Go ahead and drop the dairy for at least a couple weeks and see if you notice any improvement.  If you notice a difference

  • I'm so sorry your ped dismissed your concerns.  I think you need to take this into your own hands and consider either seeing an allergist or seeing a different pediatrician in that practice or another practice.  She obviously wasn't listening to
  • Sorry you are having so much trouble with your children's doctor , sounds like you need a new doctor , I had to switch my daughters doctor 16 times before I found one whom would listen to me , it can be very frustrating as a mother you know your child
  • I have been through 6 different pediatricians with our daughter. She has many allergies. One that stuck out in particular I had brought our daughter in for her 1 year appt and asked if we could take her off nutramigen, right after I told her about her dai
