pregnant after blighted ovum

Hey guys I am pregnant after a blighted ovum... I am freaking out dose anyone know how I can stay calm? what are the chances of it happening twice? I have an ultra sound Friday I am scared that I am gonna hear those words again...

I'm sorry for your loss. Blighted ovums are often caused by chromosomal issues. It is often a one time occurrence and does not make you more likely to have another one. I had a blighted ovum and while I did have another m/c after that it was unrelated

I second Pangnl's advise to check out PgAL. I don't think I would have survived my pregnancy without those ladies. I don't have any advise, as I have never had a BO, but I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Exactly what Pangnl said. My second miscarriage was a blighted ovum, 9 months later I got pregnant again and was scared to death. I just took it one day at a time and tried my hardest to stay positive, 9 months later I was blessed with my precious baby

After a blighted ovulation in November, my DH and I got pregnant in January, one full cycle after the miscarriage. I too am scared to death that it might happen again, it is only natural to worry. I find myself on forum boards a lot during the day, it brings me comfort in knowing that women out there have had successful pregnancies after a BO. I will keep you all updated, we have our first appointment in exactly one month from today.

I also had a blighted ovum and found out during my first ultrasound at almost 8 weeks along.  My body was still having symptoms, but only the sac was showing, no baby.  I just found out we are pregnant again and am terrified to experience the same thing again as well!  My first ultrasound will likely be the second week of March and I think until that goes well my anxiety will not disappear.  I know having anxiety is not good for the baby, but it's hard to control.  I will keep you posted!

Congrats on your pregnancy! I don't have advice about the BO, but wish you the best of luck with the pregnancy. As for staying calm, I would not be the right person to ask! I am a bundle of nerves the whole time.
