Me and my husband discussed adoption a little bit today. I mainly just broached the subject with him and asked him if it was something he would be interested in doing in the future (like 3-5 years down the road). I mainly just wanted to put my feelers out about how he felt in regards to adoption. He said he is open to the idea so I just wanted to start researching our options in regards to adoption. We have two girls, ages 10 months and 3 years. It would be important to me that we keep the birth order in tact so I think we would be looking to adopt infant - toddler ages. I guess I was just looking here to see if anyone could point me in the direction of where to look for the best information for adoption. We live in Ohio.
Like I said, we are just looking to collect information at the moment. I'm curious about things like costs, how to choose an agency, the pros and cons of doing foster to adopt vs. straight adoption, how long the process typically takes and other such things so I can be better prepared for when we decide to take the steps to start the process. So if you could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm a little overwhelmed by all the information google is throwing my way.
