XP: introing solids

What made you decide it was time to introduce solid foods to your LO? How old was baby?  Did you start with rice cereal or something else?  

LO is 5 months so I don't want to do anything before 6 months just to be safe.  But I'm wondering if I should hold off a little longer so I don't kick up her acid reflux, now that we've finally got it under control.  On the other hand, she is moving, exploring, and fussing more which is burning more calories than before.

  • We waited until LO was 6 months old. By then she was able to sit by herself, made chewing motions when we chewed, and was reaching for our food. For about a month prior to starting solids we put her in her high chair and she sat with us while we ate. The

  • We started at 6m. We do BLW so he eats what we are having instead of baby food or baby cereal. We started with banana and roasted asparagus.

  • I waited until 5 1/2 months. My LO has gas smd constipation issues so I wasn't eager to jump in to it. She if course had issues snd still does. I wish I had waited longer lol.
