Do you think it made a difference getting pregnant or having another baby at a later age??
I had my 2 children when I was in my late 20's ( I am 39 now). My (ex)husband and I lived at my parents house and we lived paycheck to paycheck. We were in no financial situation to be having children in the first place (DS-2 was an oops). We did get through and had a lot of help. I have different health insurance now than I did back then. If I had the health insurance I have now back then, I would of not been able to afford the deductible. (we did have really good insurance back then).
Being pregnant with my 3rd and being remarried to a wonderful man. He has made sure we are financially set. It is still weird to me when an insurance bill comes in and DH just looks at it and says "pay it". I believe having a baby later made a difference in my life, BUT I would not change the past or my other children. This time around I am going to have a DH that is going to help with the baby and is just as excited for her to get here as I am. I am happy to be having another baby at this age, and we are considering having another.
Re: Do you think it made/makes a difference?
I can only speak for myself, but I'm 37, pregnant for the first time, and DH and I simply didn't feel ready for this responsibility any earlier. We spent our 20's and early 30's on college and grad school, travel, and establishing our careers. <sp
