DS is not quite six months old and has allergy symptoms - red eyes, wet cough, sneezing, blotchy face, loose stools, slightly decreased appetite (the last two are due to swallowing mucus). Yesterday, his pedi confirmed it's allergies rather than a chest cold or something else, but the pedi didn't give us any advice on what we can do for DS to make him feel better other than wait it out and to keep an eye out for worsening symptoms or dehydration. Obviously he's too young for allergy meds, but is there anything else we can be doing to make him more comfortable while we wait out pollen season? We already have a cool mist humidifier in the room he sleeps in. Any help suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Pollen Allergies
I just asked my dr about this, he said they r to young for allergy meds but to use saline spray and keep their nose sucked out as needed too. Also to keep head of bed elevated for drainage and a mist fan or something that lets a lil moister in the air
Zyrtec or benadryl (both antihistamines which help w/ allergies) are OK to use at 6 months old. All the other meds I would not use until 2 years old.
