Dropping naps

I'm a FTM so this may be a dumb question, but when your LO dropped to one nap did they drop the morning nap or the afternoon one?  Or does it just depend on the child?

  • We aren't there yet with DD2 but the first go around, it was more of a day-to-day and merging thing.

    Ideally, when she started to get to that point, I'd move the afternoon nap earlier (i.e., from 12-2 or 3) or even put her down at 11 or 11:30 and

  • My daughter's naps kind of merged. Instead of a morning and evening nap, she now takes a mid-day nap from about 11:30-1:30.

    I'm in the middle of this too! DS has been doing both. It seems everyday is different I'm hoping he will figure it out soon because Monday it was mid morning 10-1pm, Tuesday was 1-3pm and today he was screaming for a nap at 8:30am!?! So I have no advice o

    Oh and from talking to my other mom friends they should eventually drop the morning nap and go to a midday nap 12/1-3/4pm. But again this is just what other moms have said and it may not be true for every baby.
