Ugh - I really didn't think we'd be doing another IUI. We waited several months at the end of last year to pick up DH's health insurance because he has better coverage for IF treatments. In January, we gave it one more shot with an injectibles + IUI cycle and that didn't work. We waited another couple months to get our finances in order for IVF and we were both excited to get the process underway. I knew it was a possibility the first protocol we tried wouldn't work but I had really hoped this was it. I am glad we're scheduled for an IUI on Thursday, and not just cancelling the cycle all together, but I really don't have high hopes of success with IUI (since we've already tried 5 times).
So, here's a question for those of you who have been through IVF. If the first protocol doesn't work, is it realistic to think something else will? The nurse at my RE's office said Lupron and Follistim/Menapur is the most common protocol they use (at my clinic), but some women just don't respond. I'm not sure what they will try the next cycle. We will meet with our RE when we know if the IUI worked.
When the world says, "Give up,"
Hope whispers, "Try it one more time."
