babywearing question

This may seem silly, but I am trying to picture how babywearing would work in the winter, when you're wearing coats to the store...how do you manage putting on your carrier? Do you just bring the baby into the store in the car seat and then remove your coat, don the carrier and away you go, putting the car seat on the cart? I can't imagine trying to do it outside...input, anyone?

If it wasn't too bad out I just put her in the carrier when I got her out of the car seat. I got pretty good at getting her in really fast to get her out of the cold. I've also carried her in the store and put her on when I got inside too.

I'd usually climb into the back seat and put her on, then wrap my coat around us. TBH, I found that bundling her in the carseat and then clicking that into the stroller was easiest when it was really cold or raining and keep my carrier in the basket of th

I'm a little different because I'm in California, but despite popular belief it does get cold here - just not Pennsylvania cold.

If we are talking just running from the car to the store...I either just stick kiddo under my coat until we get inside or have on a carrier (like a wrap or ring sling) under my coat to stick kiddo in.  Then again, it is rarely so cold here that I'm w
