Anyone have a clue what this is? (sleep related)

O is an awesome sleeper.  Up until about a week ago he would nap 2-4 hours every day (even at daycare) going down at 12:30 or 1 and waking up between 2:30 and 5.  Then he would happily go to bed around 7:30 or so and sleep until about 7am.  Last week he started waking up at about 4:45 every morning; and not awake like he would lay with me on the couch and cuddle so I could get a little more sleep...like awake yelling my name and telling me it is time to play!  So the last 2 nights I have pushed his bedtime back until 8-8:30 and he was still up at 4:45.  Any thoughts?

    Oh you poor poor momma.

I"m going to go with "it's a phase."  In the meantime, I've heard others have success with the color changing clocks that turn green when it's okay to get up.

Does O like books?  You could also put some boo

  • We've been having a lot of sleep issues.  I think it's a combination of bad dreams and wet diapers.  Since he's becoming more aware of peeing it seems to wake him now.  Lately he's been up at night more than the 10 month old! &nbs

  • This us my life! No advice, except that later bedtimes just make fir grouchy early risers. They still get up at 4. We force N to stay in bed until 5:30, awake. It's annoying to say the least to hear "Wake up Mama!" at 4!

  • This is our situation for over a month now... She never woke up at 4:45 but anywhere around 5:15-5:45 and ready to play.  Especially now that she can open her door and come to our bedroom and shout "Time to wake up, mommy!"  I thought it was

  • Thanks ladies!  I am hoping it is just a phase-and a short one at that!

It wouldn't be teeth because he has them all and has for about 4 months now.

If it isn't better by this weekend I will do some experimenting with waking

  • I agree that its just a phase.  Griff was waking up early for like a month.  Hope it passes for you soon!
