Soothie Users ?

DS uses the green soothies that are meant for 0-3 months. He has not come close to mastering keeping it in his mouth. I tried giving him the 3 months plus soothie (blue) but its so hard he just let it fall out of his mouth. Anyone know the theory about why you should use the 3 months plus one?

No idea.  DS usually only chews on his soothie so I have to hold it in his mouth but he won't have anything to do with the 3 month + one.  He just starts gagging if I try to put it in his mouth.

Oh no ... I never noticed there were different age categories!  DD would never keep hers in her mouth for very long, either (unlike the Nuks, which she would bite down on).

Dunno why there's a need to upgrade, but we did, too; DD won't have anything to do with the 3 month+ ones.  But I don't really mind; we didn't really want her to use them anyways, and now she doesn't seem to need one to calm down.

My DS does the same thing!  He does not like the blue ones   I found them to be very hard also....he is a little young for the blue one, but I tried it the other day just to see what he would do

I thought the material on the 3+ one is harder so that they can't chew through it once they start getting teeth.  We haven't switched and probably won't.

DS never made the transition to the blue Soothie.  Even after he started teething, he would just chew on the outer edge of the original.  We never had a problem with it breaking down or showing much wear.
