I did not do it with DS1 but plan to with DS2. We live in Idaho and there is only one woman that does it in a 80 mile radius. To come to our town to do it she is charging 250. I felt that was reasonable since she takes care of everything.
I did it because I was really worried about PPD. I thought they were great and made a huge difference in my energy levels and helped with the baby blues. I also think they helped with my milk supply as I never had issues with supply. In my are
I am doing it; we have the placenta frozen right now and we are dropping it off at the specialist's house tomorrow after my pp appointment. She charged 250, and I think that's pretty standard. Sorry if the format is weird. I'm bumping from my phone.

I had the midwifery student who worked under my MW do it. She had never done it before so she didn't charge us. I have nothing but great things to say about encapsulating. I def would have shelled out the extra $ for it if I didn't have

I did a tincture but I encapsulated my friend's placenta and it really wasn't hard at all. Next time I plan to encapsulate my own. If I had known it was so easy I would have done it the first time around.
Yep. My doula is doing it, so she can take the placenta directly from the hospital to process while it is "nice and fresh" (her words, not mine). She's charging $200 which I am totally OK with.

I'm planning to encapsulate mine (with the help of my sister because my midwife who does it says it's a lot of standing while you steam/cut/process/etc. and would be difficult for me the first few days pp). There are many tutorials on the internet f
Yes, it's way more standing than I would want a postpartum woman to do. I also wouldn't use my kitchen dehydrator (the inexpensive ones don't keep a consistent temperature very well, and most ovens will overheat it, unless your oven will hold 142 fo
I didnt do it for my first child but absolutely will be doing it for my second... It is included in my doula fees so Im not quite sure what the cost seperatly is. The benefits are tremendous though, it is a priority for me for sure.
Re: Placenta Capsules Anyone?
I didn't with #1, but I plan to with #2. I suffered from PPD after #1 and refuse to go through that again if I can help it.
I plan to dehydrate and encapsulate it myself. Doulas in my area do it for close to $200 and I can't justify the cos
