When does your immigration visa expire? ?(I REALLY wish I would have thought to ask that)
Seriously though, ask how she will spend the day. ?What does she think her role is? ?Some people call themselves nannies, but they are glorified baby sitters who sit on the couch all day. ?It is tough to find a good one. ?Once you do, you will know it. ?Good luck!?
I wish I had asked about her organization skills. I focused on all of the kid things, and while she was wonderful and loving with DD, she was a total slob and I was constantly cleaning up her messes when I got home. But in the end, I knew DD was safe and happy.

I've nannied for 6 years for a few different families and I always love knowing exactly what you expect from the get go. I can do a much better job if I know what you want. I also loved parents that understood the need for the nanny to not be trapped in a house all day. I was with a family with a six month old and she signed us up for gymboree classes and let me take the baby to the park or to Panera's for a coffee. Just understanding that I might need interaction with other adults automatically made me want to be the best nanny I could for their family. I would also ask about CPR/First Aid training, I had one agency I worked with that required it but that was the only time I was ever asked that question!
