Telling personal trainer

Hi ladies,

I am only 5 weeks along. I have a personal trainer once a week and wondering if its too soon to tell him? I don't think anything would need to change now in terms of exercise. Just curious.

  • You need to tell him. It's only intensity you need to worry about right now so it depends on how hard he works you. Frankly if he isn't getting your heart pounding and gasping for breath he's probably not worth the money! But now you need to keep it a more moderate intensity where you can still talk

  • I would tell him.  It's important he knows.  Whenever I had a personal trainer I always thought I was going to die by the end.  You need to take it down a notch I would think.  My trainers were always piling on the weight once I got use to it which seemed to be every week.

  • I do more weight training with him and am always pretty sore but no, not gasping for breathe. I run and do yoga on my own so just wondering about the amount of weight aspect.

  • He was one of the first people I told, so I would suggest going ahead and telling yours so they can adjust your workouts.
  • I am a trainer. Always tell us when you know. You may also want to get a rec from your trainer on who to work with if your trainer isn't prenatal certified. Congratulations and keep up the workouts!! I'm 20weeks and still teaching spin 34x a week. You'll be able to continue doing your thing at different intensities and formations. I feel great and not planning on stopping any time soon!
  • I told my CrossFit trainer immediately when I found out I was pregnant. She is a mom herself and trains a lot of other pregnant women so she had a lot of advice and guidance on my workouts.
