What does wool go over?

So I am considering entering the Wonderful World of Wool. I use pockets and AI2's now. If I bought some wool shorties or longies, do I have to buy fitted diapers to go under them? What else can you put wool over? Would it be dumb/unnecessary/counterproductive to put wool over a pocket to help with leaks at night? Sorry for the rookie question!

    I have used wool over a pocket at night when we ran out of fitteds for nighttime and I needed some extra protection with the pocket. I think that the combo of wool over PUL (or TPU) would be really warm if you used it all the time, not to mention unnec
