Alexander has had a slight cough for the last two weeks. But yesterday it got worse and he was coughing all day. Then at night he seemed to really be suffering. He knocked on our door around 3 am and he was burning up. He slept with us the rest of the night and wouldn't drink any water. When I took his temperature in the morning it was 101.7. Now he is drinking and seems tired, if not totally uncomfortable. His cough is a little less, still seems warm.
Would you take him to the pediatric urgent care just to rule out some sort of ear or throat infection? Or would you wait it out?
Re: Would you go to the doctor?
Personally, I'd probably wait it out, but it you're worried about it, maybe call the on call doctor and see what he/she recommends. Noah dealt with a bad cough and fever for over a week a couple of months ago, but I was really hesitant to bring him to
I'd wait it out too, but if I didn't see any improvement by Monday, I'd be calling the doctor. DS has a cold and a cough now too. I swear, he is well for like one week and then it seems like he comes down with something else.&nbs

I would wait at least 24 hrs from when he got his fever b/c everything I've read says that he may have an infection, but if you bring him too soon, then they won't find anything yet. That's happened to us a few times - we've brought him in, they don't
If there is any wheezing, or he is working harder than normal to breathe I would take him.
If it is just a cough and he is breathing is fine I would treat at home with steam, fever reducers etc.
hope he is better soon.

I went because there is a pediatric urgent care near me that is actually very nice and usually empty. We were the only ones there and we went as soon as it opened, so I didn't have to worry about too much getting around.
He doesn't seem to have
Happy birthday!
And I hope A is feeling better.
