Dh vent

Dh is going hiking this weekend. For more than a week now, he's been responding to my requests for details with "I'll take care of everything" and "I've got it all" and "I'm not sure yet".

He didn't mention that I needed to bring ds to daycare today. He didn't mention that his friend would be spending the day in our apartment today. Our unusually messy apartment. I'm mortified. I thought his friend was hanging with him today. He didn't mention they're heading out tomorrow morning. He did say he needed me to drop them at the trail head... But he said that it'd be about thirty minutes away. It's almost two hours.

So I've an unexpected overnight guest in a messy house, no dinner plans since ds and I were just going to eat leftovers, and I've got to haul ds and I out of bed early and drive them a long way.

I know he's stressed about getting his medical license together, but I will kill him in his sleep. He doesn't normally suck so bad at communicating, but it's been a long day and I'm trying not to explode.

Re: Dh vent

  • I sympathize with you. You asked multiple times for the plans, and got nowhere. If you were an instrumental part of the plan he had "taken care of," which it sounds like you are, then you should have had plenty of time to prepare. I'm sorry!

Im sorry! This must be a guy thing to completely stop talking and being vague when stressed. My DH pulls that same crap when he's stressed, he also seems to forget that we have a dirty laundry hamper that is not the floor.

  • That would be sumshit my H would pull. He is the absolute worst at communicating plans. So obnoxious!

  • I've got it covered = You're going to have 10 last minute things to do that I forgot about

I never believe DH when he tells me he'll take care of everything. He is an amazing multitasker at work. At home, not so much. I vote for giving him a swir

  • While our guest was calling his wife to let her know all was on schedule, I pulled dh aside and listed of everything he hadn't told me.

He's being incredibly sweet right now. Dude knows he messed up.

He told me to run out and gra

Well I'm glad he pulled his head out, at least. I'd be ultra annoyed, too.
