No heart beat

I had my appointment yesterday and the midwife couldn't find a heart beat. She only looked for about a minute. And then said she is worried j have miscarried. In going in for an ultrasound this afternoon and completely scared.

how many weeks are you? it's totally normal not to find a hb with a doppler early on, especially if she only looked for a minute!!

Hmm...At my appointment last week I was right at 11 weeks. It definitely took my OB more than a minute to find the heart beat. She kept at it and eventually found it.

10 weeks is pretty early, most drs offices wont even try until 12 weeks. Even then depending on where baby is implanted and if your uterus is tilted or something too, they might not find it all the time. My sister is 17 weeks and because of  her uter

Don't worry!! I went to the dr last week at 13 weeks and he couldn't find the heartbeat. He said its possible the baby is just really low. He was right and sent me for an u/s just to ease my mind and they had to even use the vaginal one because of the way

10W is very early to hear a heartbeat, kind of surprised they would even try.  They don't even do them at my doctors till almost 13W just to insure it is strong enough to hear.  Hang in there and try not to worry.

Omg! How scary. Like PP's said its totally normal not to find the HB with a Doppler at 10 weeks. She should NOT have said you might have had a miscarriage to you. Good luck with your ultrasound. If they find a HB I'd find a new midwife!

Fire your midwife. At 10 weeks its very early to hear and Shame on her for saying anything about m/c. Seriously if that is her bedside manner you need to fire her and find someone else.

They tried to use the doppler on my on Monday when I was 13w1d and couldnt find the heart beat. They hooked me up to the US and found the baby and a beautiful heartbeat. I hope your US goes well. And if so, I might look into another midwife. I think there

My midwives didn't find a HB before 12 weeks with either of my LO's, but everything was perfectly fine at my u/s's!
