Have to dialate my 2 year olds eyes...

in Toddlers: 24 Months+
My son is having his second eye doctor appt today and I'm supposed to dilate his eyes at home. The doctor already told me the drops were going to burn and he's going to fight me. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience on this and can kind of let me know what to expect?

    its rough.  My daughter had it done at 9 months, 2 years and 3 years.  They have to hold her down.  and she screams.  I don't want to frighten you but want to give you the uncut version :)  It gets done though and they are fine

    My son had it done just before he was 2. They just kind of snuck up on him and got the drops in. We took sunglasses, he was already used to wearing them, and kept those on while they waited for the drops to, work. They had good toys at the office and

    I am an eye doctor.  When I couldn't get drops in a child's eyes, I would have them shut their eyes.  Then you can place a few drops on the nasal side of their closed eyelids.  Then have your child open his eyes, and some of the drop will r

    My husband was good at putting the drops in my daughter's eyes. I held her hands down and he got them in. She wasn't happy at first, but she got over it. Good luck

    I wish the doctor would have done it! He hated it and my husband was working so i pretty much had to lay on him, pry his eyes open and pour them in. He HATED it, and i had to do it 3 times. Afterwards he was fine the doctor checked his eyes and was sho
