December 2012 Moms

needs to hold something to go to sleep.

DD takes super short naps and fights the whole time going down. we started letting her hold our hands when she naps and she started to sleep for 30 to 45 minutes. now whens she is tired we can hand her anything and she will drift off. usually a rolled up blankets or her rag doll. does anyone elses kiddo do this? we only do this during nap time when we can watch her she sleeps fine at night with no help.

  • We've been noticing this same thing! We put a small stuffed animal on her belly and she passes out with it... We only do it when she's in the swing though... At what age is it okay to put a lovie in the crib? I'm guessing we have awhile yet...

  • We actually picked out a blankie for LO to use for comfort and now it works really well. He's too little to have shown any specific preference but we pick one particular blanket and he sleeps with it, naps with it, it's next to him when he plays, only pla

  • If DD is fussy, we lay her down and drape a blanket all the way over her (as in covering her completely from head to toe). She likes to squirm and pull it down to where she wants it (usually just under her chin) and get all snuggled up, and then she usual

  • LO is the same way. She hated swaddling but loves holding something near her face. We lay a light receiving blanket diagonally and put her on top of it. No matter what edge she pulls, even when she wiggles to the other side of the pnp she can only get it

  • I think we might just have to try something like this with DD2. She doesn't go down for naps easily and doesn't sleep long either.

  • I specifically chose a certain blanket while pregnant for this very reason. It's soft and cuddly, but is kind of knitted looking with small holes. This way when she snuggles it it isn't completely cutting off her breathing if it got around get nose. DS ha

  • I'm so glad you posted this. LO started doing this a while ago in her car seat. Then we noticed she needed it for most naps. Once she gets our hand its aost impossible to get it back. Even in her sleep she will grip harder if you try to move it. My mom no
