cough syrup?

Has anyone given their Lo robitussin dm??  Dd has awful drainage and cough.  Her pedi recommended robitussin dm.  I am  in the process of finding a new ped and think he tends to over medicate but this cough is rough tonight.  I have liquid albuterol i can use, but it wires her up SO much i hate to use it over night. okay, TIA!

I haven't given cough syrup this young but by my ped advice I have given both DS and daisy a little bit of crushed up cough drops at one and up.

His Dr. wrote him a prescription for it back in Aug when he had some coughing. I'm not sure if it was exactly that but I know it was something like it. He HATED the taste of it and would almost choke on it too to keep him from swallowing it.

A teaspoon of honey helped dd a lot. I mixed it with a little warm water.

I've been using the honey elixir for 4 nights along wick Vicks on the soles of C's feet then cover them with socks. His nighttime coughing has improved vastly.

You can buy honey elixir in the cough and cold section for 5 to 8 dollars or get a bottle of honey from the grocery store. I just mixed a teaspoon of honey with warm water. The water makes it easier to draw up in the syringe and going down.
