Late Term and Child Loss

When YOU go back to work...

Hi ladies, following up from the other post, how did you cope with going back to work after your loss? I luckily have 6 weeks off, with 2 left (well, 1.5 now I guess).

I've survived the last month, and there were periods of time I didn't think I would. I'm functioning now...able to shower, eat exercise and complete tasks, and go out in public as long it's not for to long. I'm terrified about going back to work. I'm a counselor, so it's not a simple job where I can zone out and just do it. It's emotionally draining and a lot of work. Once I go back I basically have no time off left. My first week I think I'll only work 3 days, but after that like I said I have no time left. Any advice? I have a close friend I work with and I had her tell everyone. All my clients will also be told so I don't have to. I'm worried about having a total melt down at work, since my melt downs are unpredictable.

Any advice?

  • Going back to work was difficult. Though everyone knew, seeing each person caused me to have a new meltdown. I knew they each cared about us and were genuinely sorry. I just had to tell each person, "I never know when I will be crying or not. Please do

  • Going back to work is so hard. I stayed home for 8 weeks although I was supposed to be home for 5.5 months. It was hard to wrap my head around the "oh my god I am back at work" feeling for awhile.

The one thing that really helped me was goi
