Anyone switched to soy formula?

First DS has always had a stuffy nose, but not a cold...just always a tiny bit congested.  Then he got this red rash on his face that we just recently learned is eczema.  Finally, he got an ear infection with no other cold or anything to trigger it.  He squirms around in his crib like he's not comfy and was having trouble ever putting himself back to sleep if we wakes up after 1 sleep cycle during naps.  Other than these things though he's a pretty happy dude, super smiley and whatnot, so I didn't really consider he had a dairy allergy.  The thing is though, I have one... it gives me ear infections.  

So anyways I decided to give it a go today and try soy, mostly I'm worried about the eczema and am hoping to get rid of it without any medicine since it's starting to get a little worse.  He's had two bottles so far today, both with the new formula and he's approaching two hours on this nap...he stirred once or twice, but put himself right back to sleep!  So hoping this is a good sign... just wondering if anyone else made the switch and what made you do it? How did it go?

I put DD on soy and it cleared up the eczema very quickly!!! Maybe it was just coincidence but she hasn't had a problem with it since.
