Ido in autismland

Has anybody read this book?

Short description: This is a book written by and about an autistic person, who early in his childhood was diagnosed as a low functioning, non-verbal, autistic. He spent many years in all kinds of therapies that didn't produce much progress. Later he finds a way to communicate... He appears a very bright guy, who did understand everything for all those years, but could not express himself in any way. At the same time he was extremely frustrated and bored of all the therapies and specialists who assumed that he knew nothing and kept trying to teach him what a tree is... Today Ido is still a non-verbal autistic person from outside, but has found  a way out of his cage.

I am pretty new to the autism world, but the more I read, the more I realize how little the world today knows about autism. This probably refers more to the low functioning labels. We try to do what we think is the best for our kids, but sometimes, we simply don't know what that is.

Just wanted to share.
