Cloth Diapering

poop question

my son just started on cereal and 1 veggie this week.  Until this point I haven't had to spray his poop before washing my diapers.  At what age will his poop roll off the diaper into the toilet? (I hate spraying them) he is eating what we eat not just purees?

Re: poop question

  • Curious to hear the answer to this, as well. We're doing half purees half BLW, and we're still getting serious sticky poo.

  • I started swishing / scraping when I noticed a change in consistency ( I don't have a sprayer). You'll see a lot of people refer to a peanut butter consistency poo. Trust me, you'll know.

  • DS's poop didn't get more solid until he was eating 3 meals a day. And we do purees only, no BLW, so he eats quite a bit. I noticed a change when we added the third meal - I still use the sprayer to loosen it from the fabric, but it is usually much more s

  • I am a week into CDing and DS, who was pooping 1x a day, immediately started pooping 3+ times a day.   He's on purees and gets 2 or 3 meals a day (he's a pig, I swear) so his have been solely ploppable.  I found he had the PB consistency

  • It's different for each LO.  And TBH even after your LO has ploppable poop, they can still go through phases of pb-like poop too (like when teething).  I think it was a few months before DD's poop was consistently ploppable (she started solids a
  • My son is 13 months and his poop is still only ploopable 10% of the time! When I do get a ploopable poop I feel like I won the lottery haha. Lucky for me I do have a diaper sprayer.
  • My dd's is still not consistent and she eats 3 solid meals a day. I use the flushable liners, which makes every single diaper change ploppable. I can't imagine having to spray each time!

  • Eh, pardon the pun, but it's a crap shoot. DS is 17 mos and the "ploppable" poops are entirely dependent on what he's eaten over the last few meals. As your child eats more regular solid meals the likelihood of easy disposal is increased, but there's not
