Some advice for an IF member?

Hi All,

I've been on the IF board since Aug 2012 from my first IVF and have now just received my second BFN for IVF#2 (we did 3 IVFs in total but one was cancelled due to low E2).

I'm having a WTF appointment (first one with Cornell) on Friday with my RE and I'm hoping to come prepared with some questions and really press next steps.  From what I've read Cornell isn't all that into immune testing but I've been reading up on it and am interested.  Especially MTHFR as my mother had a pregnancy where the baby had severe spina bifida...I am on high dose extra folic acid but I know this can be processed differently than other formulations.

Between reading the posts here and my own research, here are some additional tests/procedures I would like to bring up to my RE.  Could you please let me know of anything else I may be missing or important questions you would suggest I ask from your own experience?  I truly value everyone's experience here and between IFV and IF, have learned so much.

• Plaminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 (activity)
• Anti-Cardiolipin IgG, IgM, IgA
• Beta-2 Glycoprotein IgG, IgM
• Phosphatidylserine IgG, IgM 
• Natural Killer (Nk) Full Panel 

 

• Thyroid panel (TSH) -
• Karyotyping of Parents -
• Celiac
• Vit D

• Endometrial Biopsy (EMB)

That's a really good list - and you should definitely bring it up. 

I didn't cycle at Cornell - but I did do a phone consult with them after our 4 failed IVFs.  And out of the four REs we talked to at that point - I found them to be by

I am sorry for your failures. I would not talk to your re about immune testing because its like a foreign concept to them I would consult with an RI. So you have any immune diseases? Also do not go to SIRM it is a huge waste of

Didn't Dr. Beer pass away? OP,  I saw Dr Kwak-kim & loved her!!  My RE doesn't believe in immunology really, so I went on my own.  Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

Gotcha, I read his book and I think he also trained Dr kwak. She took over for him when he left RFU to open his center.
