Tummy time fail

LO is 5 weeks old- he has been home from the hospital for just over three weeks due to an 11 day stay following a surprise arrival four weeks early. Since h's been home we've been dealing with some BF issues, so feeding LO and/or pumping seems to occupy most of the time he's not sleeping or catching a snuggle in my arms.  This means I have probably done tummy time maybe five or six times (mostly on my or DH's chest).  This morning while organizing his paperwork I cam across the tummy time handout and had a major attack of guilt- thoughts running through my head about how I've now delayed his sitting, crawling etc...ugh.  I'm sure some of it is my sleep deprived brain.  Anyone else been negligent in tummy time and not wrecked their kid?

    I haven't read anything regarding tummy time, but guess I should. We haven't officially started doing "tummy time" LO may have done it twice and as soon as I laid him down he was trying to turn over to get back to his back?? I don't think he likes it too

    Remember that tummy time is any time on the tummy.  So, him laying against you on his belly is enough to count.  It's just about engaging the neck muscles and helping to build those and the core muscles up.  That being said, most babies hat

    We totally didn't worry about tummy time the first month... you're busy getting settled as a family! And getting time on your chest totally counts. You're doing great, mama!

    We are not consistent with DD since we were so busy with so many things. Just holding her upright and having her lie on our chest helped with her neck muscles. She is 3 months old and is able to lie on her tummy with her head up for about 10 minutes the

    DS did/does most of his tummy time on our chest...he is 3 months old now and has amazing head control. Right now we are working on helping him roll over.

    Meh.  I rarely did/do actual tummy time on the floor.  Most of her TT has been on my chest, or in a baby carrier.  It all works out the same muscles. :)

    My pediatrician told me that tummy time while laying on you or DH still counts...  thats the only tummy time ive given H...

    DS was 4 weeks early and  his tummy time til about 2 months was laying on my chest or DH chest. He's only 4 months now but he does fine on tummy time now. He was too tiny at first for it and didn't like it.

    Our lo screams any time we put her on her tummy so we generally don't do it. I probably try again once or twice a week and she still hates it, so her only tummy time is tummy to tummy time on myself or mh. I'm not worried about her neck muscles because sh
