Surgery while pregnant- extremely nervous

Hi All,

Pretty much freaking out here.  I'm scheduled to have surgery for an extremely large (10cm) ovarian cyst.  I'm in my second tri.  I thought that I could convince them to perform the surgery under regional anesthetic, but it's a no go.  My abdomen will be expanded up with CO2 so the surgeon can better visualize the structures, and this requires me to be under general anesthetic as I won't be breathing on my own.  

 Anyone out there undergo surgery while they were pregnant?  I'd love to connect with you.   Trying to relax, I know this state of constant nervousness isn't good for the baby- but it's just not happening.

I had my cerclage placed and was under general anethesia.  I really don;t think that is the same as what you are going through, but I was told the anesthesia was safe.  I also have a friend that has had to have two surgeries and her and her babe

Thanks for all your comforting words, glad to hear I'm not alone.  Well, sort of glad, wouldn't wish this on any of you.
