Pack n Play Question

I'm looking at Pack n Play/Play Yards. I will have it up in my living room and may take it to my ILs at times too. Originally I planned on getting a model with the changing table to minimize the trips upstairs to the baby's room during the day for changing. Some of the reviews I've read about the changing table play yards aren't great, basically, they aren't worth the extra cost. What are your experiences with the changing table feature? Was it worth it?

Re: Pack n Play Question

  • I use a pack n play for my downstairs and personally love the changing table feature so I don't have to run upstairs. Mine also has a vibration feature for the bassinet that makes it my son's favorite place to sleep during the day. I bought mine in 2010

  • I only used it a couple of times and then removed it. My husband and I are tall and it was too low to be comfortable. It was easier to go higher with the changing table or just change on the floor.

  • We just got the basic "4 walls" model. No newborn napper or changing station.

Honestly, we just change him wherever we are. We put a blanket or towel under him and change on on the bed or floor.

I don't think it's worth it. It's pretty unstable (always seemed sloped) and it didn't take long for my son to outgrow it. We had a PnP with the newborn napper and we didn't get much use out of that either. I think the basic one is sufficient.

  • we have a graco pack and play with changing table.  I have a two story house as well, and I really liked having it set up in my living room for the first few months.  Newborns need diaper changes so often, it was nice not to have to keep running

  • I used the newborn napper and changing stations for like a week. Hated it. I switched to just the elevated bassinet feature and used that to change her. I had to lean over a little further, but NBD. I also changed her on the floor, the couch, my bed. Basi

  • I loved my packnplay with my older son, his had a changer option and I loved it for a couple months.  Then I removed it and used the floor and a blanket. LOL  But I personally loved it so much I looked for a PNP with one on it this time! I found

  • I got one with the changing area and haven't used it once. I realized it would be a pain to out it on and off (especially in the middle of the night), so I just have a changing pad in my dresser.

We have a baby trend play yard (from Target) that has a changing table feature but truthfully, we've never used it s

  • I have a fairly large two story house and our nursery is upstairs- in that we have a dresser/changing table combo which is great for the night.  We also have a basic Graco Pack n Play that we bought used and only has the bassinet feature- that is
