Bring my DS to a Hockey game

Our DS is 7 weeks old and we are thinking about bring him to a hockey game tonight. It is a pretty big stadium so it is not too cold there, I actually finds it warm there. Do think that it is too soon for this? My H is looking forward to bring him there becasue we don't normally have hockey games anymore in our city, so this might be the only chance that my H will get to bring his first son to a hockey game.

Re: Bring my DS to a Hockey game

  • From what you're describing, I'd probably do it. He'll probably sleep the whole time anyways! We plan to take DS to a game this year.

  • We took our DS to a football game in a dome when he was about that age.  You just have to be willing to leave if he gets fussy.  We stayed about 30 minutes.  I was really worried about the noise level.  We asked our pedi and he said he wasn't as concerned about the loud noise as he was the germs.  If people are sneezing and coughing around you, you probably want to leave.
  • I took DS to a high school football game (DH is the coach) at 3 weeks old! I had to get out and the weather was really nice. DH put some chairs down near the field so that we could sit without having to be crowded in the stands. He slept the entire time.
  • I have a friend who has season tickets to the Hurricanes and they've been taking their son since he was 10 weeks old.  They just make him wear earplugs.  I would go and just wear DS in a wrap or sling.  He'll probably sleep most of the time!

  • We've taken DS to 2 Pro Hockey games, he was 4 months at his first game but we would have taken him sooner if the season started earlier. He was really good and slept through most of it. The noise didn't seem to bother him at all.

  • We are huge hockey fans!! I would go - but bring something to cover the baby's ears - it is so loud!!

  • We thought about doing this when we went to the Boston Bruin's game, we didn't take DS which was good because it was SO loud!  They sound this horn when they score a goal and play music very, very loudly.  I wouldn't recommend it honestly.....
  • Sounds fine to me. ?I took my DS to a college football game at a sold out stadium when he was that old. ?Just be prepared that you might have to leave early, my DS have never made it through a football game, but we always have fun.
