Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

18 month nap/sleep times?

DD naps from 12:00-1:30, in bed by 7:30pm (asleep by 8 at the latest), and awake around 6:30am.

I know to follow her cues but lately, she has been taking longer to fall asleep. Just wondering if it is a sign to push bedtime back a bit or if it is just a weird phase and just stay consistent.

Wondering how long do I keep this schedule?

Re: 18 month nap/sleep times?

  • I noticed that my girls sometimes stay awake if I let them get over tired. Maybe try pushing their bedtime up 30 minutes or so?  Seems late to be going down after 8pm.

I usually put my girls down around 6:30pm, they're asleep by 7pm a

  • I also agree with moving up bedtime. My 18 month old is up at 6:30/7 am naps 12:302:30/3 and bed between 6:30 and 7 pm. From everything Ive read this will stay pretty consistent till 3 years old or so.

  • That was around the time my daughter moved her nap back (it was from 1-2:30, now it's 2:30 to 4).  We didn't change the 7:30 (asleep around 8:30pm) bedtime.

  • I must have the laziest 18 month old around :) He crashes at 7:30 and wakes up at 6:30 then takes two 1.5-2 hour naps during the day. Yes, still two naps. We tried to move him to one and it was a fail. He slept so much worse at night when we tried t

  • I tried moving bedtime up by half an hour and it made her night sleep even worse!

We went back to a 7:30 bedtime she started falling asleep within 10 minutes again. She sleeps all the way through til 6:30 so I'm guessing it was just a weird phase
