Age to watch "My Girl?"

I just saw this movie is free on Demand.  I have not seen it in forever and used to love it....would you let your 6 year old watch it?  Just thinking about the bees killing McCually (sp) scene...  My son has had a lot of questions about death since his great grandpa died and is very curious but not sure if this is a good idea or not.  I am probably overanalyzing....

Personally I'd say 9+ for that movie it has some really heavy subject matter, including the loss of a parent and I'd err on the side if waiting.

6 seems young to me - I think I saw it when I was closer to 11ish when I saw it and while it didn't scar me or anything, my 11 year old self thought it was dark.  Also, IIRC, isn't there a scene where she gets her period?  Just something else yo
